Halloween, Detroit, 1988
Three young kids decide to stay out late
Devil's night smoke lingers
From the eve before
Blinding them from the fateful
Night that lay in store
On that foggy night
They disobeyed parental warning
They chose mischief, causing fright
Now one won't live 'til morning
In the night, they will find
The chill of death walks behind
In the dark, no one hears you scream
Another victim, Hardrock Halloween
Little did they know
Their fates would soon collide
With a black Trans Am
Speeding from the east side
Coming from Harpo's, looking for kicks
Smashing out windshields with bats and bricks
'Cause these three teens are on a criminal spree
Burning down houses and robbing some kids
Driving fast on LSD
They disobeyed all warnings
Fueled by the sound of heavy metal speed
Causing mischief, raising hell 'til morning
Now in the night, they will see
Three kids out late on Samhain's Eve
No one around to hear them scream
They found their victims, Hardrock Halloween
Trans Am stops in the rain-slicked street
Occupants jump out and strike at lightning speed
Mug the kids, grab the stash and get away
But something went wrong in the flash of a blade
What started with some Hallow's pranks
Ended up in a fatal mistake
Now one's in a coffin, one's in a cell
Sentenced to 18 and life in hell
And in your cell, no one hears you scream
Rotting away, Hardtime Halloween
