The lyrics are written in a language called 'Sindarin'. A language made up by Tolkien. It is a separate language from 'Quenya' (Elvish), although very similar.

Tolkien was a linguist and created several whole languages for his work, complete with guides for translation and pronunciation. Elvish, while created for a work of fiction is a language.
