Oh we ain't got a barrel of money
Maybe we're ragged and funny
But we'll travel along singin' our song side by side
Don't know what's comin' tomorrow
Maybe it's trouble and sorrow
But we'll travel the road sharin' our load side by side
Through all kinds of weather
What if the sky should fall?
Just so long as we're together
It doesn't matter at all
When they've all had their quarrels and parted
We'll be the same as we started
Just travlin' along singin' our song

In the late 40' 's me and my three siblings, along with my father and mother would make car trips to see my grand parents. The trip would always seem like " forever". The lyrics did express are exact situation. This was in Montana and there wasn't many radio stations especially when we really got in the boonies. We truly traveled along and sang our songs all together. One of the other songs we all sang together was Sue City Sue, I believe it was called. We truly didn't have much but we had each other.
