Diefenbaker are aiming to create a modern acoustic sound that incorporates the aggression of rock but also the delicacy and poise of classical music, without betraying the simplicity and authenticity of folk. As yet, they have opted not to include any form of percussion, electronic or otherwise, so as to preserve a natural spontaneity of rhythm and an almost impressionistic minimalism.
