GROWING UP IN HOLLYWOOD TOWN

Growing up in old Hollywood
Don't you know it felt good
To be path of the action
Take a trolley car all the way
From the heart of LA
To the end of the pier
Fancy dudes and matinee queens
In their black limousines
Always cruisin' down Sunset
Oleander, jasmine and pear
Hangin' sweet in the air
And the Sky was so clear
Movie stars dressed all in satin and sable
Walkin' their dogs down the street
When we were small
Now they wear blue jeans
Don't go nowthere at all
Growing up in Hollywood town
Growing up on sunshine and dreams
And those fan magazines
We were box office babies
Learning how to sing and to dance
Waitin' for the big chance
To show what we could do
"Thanks very much
Please don't call us. We'll call you"
Watch them do that Vine Street shuttle
Wheelin' and dealin' at the Brown Derby Bar
Waitress hears the same old hustle
"Honey, I could make you a star!"
Growing up in Fantasyland
Where a Malibu tan
Is the natural color
Anything you want you can win
Just as long as you're thin
And you newer grow old
Rabid New yorkers
May say that we're crazy
Palm trees and sunshine
Keep telling me they're wrong
This is the place
Where I know that I belong
