Tragedy lies in wait
For those who don't heed it's call
History speaks again and again
Of the many faults of man
Shepherds leading flocks astray
They're predator to prey
Pawns, they're set upon the field
Kings know their fate is sealed
Though it's often said
We learn from our mistakes
It's all said for naught
If we don't read from the same page
Most truths are self explained
By the nature of the thing
But lies contrived, are meant to divide
By emperors and kings
Kings and pawns
Emperors and fools
We follow blindly
When we can't discern the truth
Kings and pawns
Emperors and fools
Damned to repeat the past
Now we'll ever play the fool
They sit upon their thrones
Thinking they're the chosen ones
They provide us all we know
Yet they keep us from the sun
They know that knowledge is power
So they keep us in the dark
Ever knowing, ever fearing
A flame just needs a spark
