From the tip of Brighton Pier
To the Sunset Boulevard
The wheels are set in motion
To drop the whole façade
No neon lights are glowing
As the circle meets its end
Look up the ladder, it’s clear to see
There’s not much here to command
I think my radio is broken
We used to be so close
Now it’s bedside crap they call lyrics
From the pillar to the post
My TV is acting funny too
It just hangs there on the wall
Playing channels that say it’s music
When it’s showing camouflage porn
Who’s gonna get to cut some slack
When we’re reaching breaking point
There’s only so much numbing that I can take
Before the numbness becomes the norm
Where the fat cat sat upstairs
Squeezing every drop from the vehicles
Take me back to a time when man was man
Less the pawn
The suits are taking over
With a shiny Rolex piece
It shines so bright it blinds them
So they can’t see what’s a release
There’s always hope that the next one
Will be perceptive deep and sure
When I sit down to listen
Oh it’s just what’s been before
Who’s gonna get to cut some slack
When we’re reaching breaking point
There’s only so much numbing that I can take
Before the numbness becomes the norm
Where the fat cat sat upstairs
Squeezing every drop from the vehicles
Take me back to a time when man was man
Less the pawn
From the tip of Brighton Pier
To the Sunset Boulevard
The wheels are set in motion
To drop the whole façade
No neon lights are glowing
As the circle meets its end
This time, regression is the future
It’s time to turn that bend
Who’s gonna get to cut some slack
When we’re reaching breaking point
There’s only so much numbing that I can take
Before the numbness becomes the norm
Where the fat cat sat upstairs
Squeezing every drop from the vehicles
Take me back to a time when man was man
Less the pawn
