Worlds Greatest Dad
Words and music

A man of funny faces and a heart of love for me
Throws me in the air and plays cowboy on his knee
He caught me on my first step Then he showed me how to run
A jungle-gym of sorts I remember just a load of fun
He’d pin me on the floor Just like the wrestlers on TV
And wouldn’t let up until He counted up to three
And send up to bedtime And then chase me into bed
He’d tuck me under covers And then he’d kiss me on the head
A man of worried paces And a heart of love for me
Stands upon the sideline As he’s routing for my team
A scream a yell an at a boy Was the music of my youth
And interwoven in were All great messages of truth
Here is how you hit the ball Here’s how to throw a curve
While standing in the batters box Don’t ever loose your nerve
Instructions fall on deaf ears When becoming your own man
Somewhere in his wisdom I knew he’d understand
If I-------- were only 1/2 the father as you
I could be very glad I would be very glad
So I---- can’t thank you enough for the person you are
You’re the worlds greatest dad. The worlds greatest dad!
A man of solemn graces And a heart of love for me
Stands with all forgiveness For the things I couldn’t be
A memory that could hold the times When we were best of friends
And shoulder still to cry on and two arms that he extends
The passing years see us drift apart When we move away from home
But the circle will continue With the families of our own
