When a man dies unto himself
It's not a spiritual suicide
But to live only for Christ
He's the one whom I must abide
I can no longer look unto myself
Or be concerned for my own
I must look to the one who leads
And not to the road He leads me on
If I treasure the things of this world
I'll be missed from knowing what is true
If I look at anything but You
All I'll see is a distorted view
So many times I seek impurities
Chase after things I can't get
Lose sight of my priorities
Forget everything I've been taught
I wonder where you are
Why do you seem so far away?
Could it be I kick you out when you try to come my way?
Maybe it's time for fear and trembling
Maybe it's time to question myself
