Yo dude, whatever happened to this scene?
Where did everybody run off to?
Remember back in the sixth grade?
The first time I heard my friends over you.
Back when everything was simple.
Never worried what we said.
I never had a chance, got to say.
Like remember all we used to do?
That was the year that my Grandfather died.
And some nights I lay awake and he appears at the edge of my bed.
He just stares off into space I wonder what goes on in his head.
And now my futures not as bright, forever chained to New Jersey.
But you know I'll always stay gold,
follow my own child who dreams.
Still wish I was thirteen.
But I can't change the tides.
That was then and now is now.
There's no sense in changing time,
it's what it is.
And now is now.
But still sometimes I wonder why...
Or how he thought about the boy back then.
At least there's no question why?
Of what I did, or who I am.
