Pls explain reference to Cain (who killed his brother) and how that fits with the rest of that stanza... until he sees his future in the water... I don't get it.Thx.

Should water represent birth (a future) and the beach a place of peace and restoration of self, at least for me. Cain might find both from his wrong doing. And in the overall love song, a man might find a new start from his regretful past. That's my imagination's take.
