I see a suitcase, some underwear and toothpaste,
And nothing but a lot of space joining them inside.
I know that when we get there I’ll buy whatever I wear
We travel light on the flight in the air tonight.
Oh, outside, it’s raining over Tyneside,
But come midnight the birds and I will be on our way.
Flying over England to catch another season
This is the evening we are leaving on holiday.
I can’t wait to see you waiting there in Heathrow,
Nothing but the sunshine on our mind.
And the duty free we’re buying will be flowing
Like the crystal clear water we fly over
On our DC10 tonight.
And when we get there we’re seeing in the New Year,
Drinking in our easy chairs, sitting by the poolside,
Lining up the cocktails to put some wind into our
sails,
Kissing and grinning, making words up to “Auld Lang
Syne”.
I can’t wait to see you waiting there in Heathrow,
Nothing but the sunshine on our mind.
And the duty free we’re buying will be flowing
Like the crystal clear water we fly over
On our DC10 tonight.
I spent Christmas day dreaming ‘bout a holiday.
I spent Boxing day wishing by the time ‘til I’m inside
a taxi,
And rolling down the runway.
And we’ll be sipping margueritas by closing time.
I can’t wait to see you waiting there in Heathrow,
Nothing but the sunshine on our mind.
And the duty free we’re buying will be flowing
Like the crystal clear water we fly over
On our DC10 tonight.
