My Grandmother loved this hymn! I remember sitting beside her in church and she would just bellow the lyrics at the climax. I still get chills every time I hear it because it reminds me of her (God rest her soul). I played it from my iPhone for my brother who is on his deathbed, sung by Anthem Lights. He responded after being under very heavy sedation, by squeezing my sister's hand and trying to open his eyes and trying to talk. Even though he will not be with us too much longer, I just know he will see and hear my sweet Grandmother sing this to him when he transcends into Heaven. I want this song sang at MY Memory ceremony or funeral.

I lost my aunt, she just died in her sleep. Since then I have had this fear of death hovering around my family, after a while, I started getting scared I 'll die. I thought of my kids and my family. Last night I slept and had a dream, I saw different points on a wide express way, at each point I saw a white Angel and a black Angel, and then I saw people on both sides like doing a confession to these Angels. I rode with my friend and kept screaming with excitement but she couldn't see what u saw. We got to a point and I saw the Lord, shinning and walking up, He was radiant, His face was so pure, I was screaming with excitement, but still only me could see him. At that point my friend was now crying, then I looked at her and said, your 're crying because u have heard that when someone is about to die, they start seeing the Lord, she nodded. Then the Lord disappear and saw a world of sin and immortality. Then I woke up with the song, How Great thou Art!! I checked it up that early morning and sang the whole thing, still not understanding why that song. So I sang it again and again, just to realize it was God telling me He is greater than my fears and worries. When ever I feel low, I sing that song.

When I was a young lad, that was my favorite song to hear. My mother used to sing that song on Sunday morning in the church choir. The entire church would be singing and praising that song. Thank GOD for all of his greatness.
