It was Truemansburg, New York, 1963
Where Robert Moog began his Main Street factory
It was Herb Deutsch who blew his mind
With his music and design
And together they built the circuits and made history
Music will never be the same
Because you gave us the synthesizer
The electric buzz of the waveforms called the artists from the east
On Truemansburg they descended
To witness the shimmering beast
Out in the west, Beaver and Krause turned on the heads in Monterey
And Sun Ra flew in the space probe with his Model B
Bordemn and the Mallards, they really took flight
Casting mantras and patterns and numbers into a virgin New York night
Then Wendy switched on her noise and there was no turning back
From Nashville to Popcorn, the Moog was everywhere
Music will never be the same
Because you gave us the synthesizer
