Ego ad finem
Omnia tenuit cari
Ego in finem
Ravenous beasts
Is it lonesome in your depths
Apart from humanity's stench?
Has the disease of our life reached your watery bed?
As you cleanse our poison with every watery breath
What is the point?
Where is the joy?
Suspended in dreams built on sand
Still disenchanted, but out of respect
I bow to you, king of the end
And in mortal flesh and expiring lungs
And a heart that still weeps blood
I stand upon this rotting deck
Alone, contemplating the company of your depths
Ravenous beast
Masterless one
Why have you surfaced again?
I'm awake in a cradle of wind and stars
Exhausted and longing to drift away with you
Freedom reeks in ivory jaws
Repair the wounds time could not mend
Passionless, burnt down to marrow and bone
And specters of love to be missed
Boundless exhaustion, ambition forgotten
One single step from the Earth to transcend
Out of this rotten cage, so the needs of my soul
Might cease to exist
Ravenous beast
Ancient guard of the northern sea
Drowner of worlds and granter of dreams
I bow before your majesty and accept my fate
For it remains as unchanging as your rule
The stars and the sea and the rain are all gone
The void reveals itself to me
Am I in the belly of the beast or is the beast in me? T
The sleep I longed for takes me, and I dream
One single step from the Earth to transcend
Out of this rotten cage, so the needs of my soul
Might cease to exist
