There's a feeling
On this street
It encompasses everyone that I meet
Streets are quiet
Traffic slows
This is the kind of place that weighs heavy on my soul
And I’ve been searching for a way to get my head around all of this
But every time I get close it slips away
And I’ve been counting down the seconds until I can leave this place
But something always makes me want to stay
I took the redline
To public square
I could tell right then there was something in the air
This city’s dying
But I’m alive
I’ll live off the glow that summertime provides.
I don’t know what I’m doing here
Consistent inconsistence, nothing’s clear
The city’s dead but I’m alive
I’m alive.
