I'm running to catch up with the world,
out of breath now.
Thrown away my nightgowns and stored every quarter.
But I've been thinking,
calculating,
what would happen
if I stopped.
Would I die?
Would I lose all my friends and cry?
Oh me, oh my.
Would I die?
I'm running to catch up with the boys,
but I'm much faster.
Offered them my shiniest toys,
and fed them dinner.
But I've been thinking,
calculating,
what would happen
if I stopped
for a meal.
Would I lose all my sex appeal?
Oh me, oh my.
For a meal.
And when I think of heaven above
it's full of nature.
Pretty purple flower buds
bloom in winter.
Waterfalls on golden streams
and mermaids singing
fireworks on every sunning
and churchbells ringing.
But I've been thinking,
calculating,
what would happen
if I stopped
for a view.
Would my heaven on earth be true?
Oh me, oh my.
What a view.
