C D G
Chorus: There was just one mosquito,
C D G
Im sure youd be happy to know.
C D G
And Im really quite glad, You know , it
wasnt all that bad
C D G
Cause there was just one mosquito
1) G
But there were blackflies by the thousands
D
And theyd swarm around my head.
D7 G
Theyd crawl on up my nostrils, At least they were
well fed.
G C C7
The no-see-ums and giant horseflies tried to carry me
away,
D D7 D G
But the biggest threat was never met, they never came
into play.
(Repeat Chorus)
2) There were rattlesnakes by the dozens,
Theyd slither around my feet,
Theyd squiggle into my sleeping bag, For an
instant rise in heat.
There were tarantulas and scorpions under each and
every rock,
And every morning Id start out by shaking them
from my socks.
(Repeat Chorus)
3) It was hot and dusty travelin, a hundred and
four in the shade,
And if I found a tree every 25 miles, Id think I
had it made.
I had blisters the size of coffee-cups, On each and
every heel.
My face it was so sunburned, It was red as an apple
peel.
(Repeat Chorus)
4) There were sandstorms every day, and twisters every
night,
The springs were full of scummy things
And cowflop, what a sight.
There were lightning storms & thunder, Rain, how it
would pour.
And every time a bird flew by, hed drop me a
something more!
(Repeat Chorus)
