On Sept 1st, 2001 Charles A. Blake became Alcyon. While holding the body of a close friend after a motorcycle accident, Alcyon felt his friend's spirit detach from the physical body leaving behind an expired "vessel" and a group of kids struggling to make sense of such a tragic loss. From that moment Alcyon has been creating music that serves as a direct reflection of his journey and the beautiful mysteries encountered therein. From Frat Boy to Dreadlock Psychonaut, Alcyon describes through his music the processs of his spiritual metamorphesis as perceived through the lens of hip-hop, reggae, and tribalonika.
