The band was founded in 2002 by Antoni Gutslasher and was initially called Gutslasher. The musical style evolved steadily from hardcore grind to porngrind/goregrind and then to death'n'roll. In 2005 the band was renamed to Formaline and then to Formalin; the style changed to brutal death metal with goregrind influences. The album Tales From The Morgue was released in 2007.
