The pair started out together as songwriters in Nashville, Tennessee, working for the same publishing group; they penned the hit Country song "Since I Found You" in 1986 for Sweethearts of the Rodeo shortly before landing their own record deal.Foster & Lloyd's self-titled debut album was released in 1987, producing five hit singles on the U.S. Billboard country music charts. Their follow-up albums, Faster & Llouder (1989) & Version of the Truth (1990), were less successful.
