Although the Los Angeles-based PURR MACHINE was established in 1996 under the moniker KORE, the primary members solidified their reputations with previous endeavors.Frontwoman Betsy Martin utilized her distinctive croon with the seminal Phoenix-formed Caterwaul, a band which released two albums on the IRS label in the '80s.
