The heart and its double
Confusing everyone
But I just want to see
The flashing lights play
Their game of charades
Before the mirror it breaks
The rubbish left by the parade
And I feel my life tinkling away
And feel it even as I say
That my heart is full
But there's always its double
And you fly through and hit the sky
And fill your pockets, make them yours
And I'll write it down
And please sing it when I'm gone
'Cause there's shade when there is light
Sometimes there's no more energy to fight
And sometimes there's no way to make it right
And leave you mine
And that's alright
The heart and its double
One in joy and one in pain
And I just don't know which one is my friend
Suppose it doesn't matter in the end
So long as lights play their games
And my tongue tastes the rain
And this poem's the same
And this music is playing
And you have pockets of stars
And I can still hide in bars
And this twin of my heart
Still laughs when I laugh
