Sweet Comfort Band was a Christian rock band who were active from the mid-1970s until 1984.The band consisted of Bryan Duncan, Randy Thomas, Rick Thomson and Kevin Thomson.Sweet Comfort released their self-titled first album on Maranatha! Records in 1977. Their sound was a mix of jazzy, funky rock that was quite a bit different from most bands in Contemporary Christian music industry who were primarily performing folk-rock and soft rock. Few bands had the musicianship displayed by this quartet.Adding 'Band' to their name, they moved from Maranatha! to Light Records for their second release Breakin' The Ice which was produced by Bob Wilson of the jazz-funk band Seawind.
