Arbitrary lines
The sum of life
Shrinks with time
A second death denied
But I fear the ink in this pen will never dry
And I'll write the same poetry
Some letters you'll never read
To no reprieve
And I'll check the calendar days
Remember the words you'd say
I hope you believe
Delft blue and picture frames
Outlines are all that remains
And a space on the cabinet
With the Dalecarlian
And in a faux refrain
No resolution to gain
And when I lie awake
Attempting to relay
I will always remember
Those last few ounces of pressure
Now I'm alone
And you're just five pounds of carbon
A vacant hospital room to pack
They'll need this bed cleared when I get back
